ORAL CANCER SCREENINGS
At Healthy Smiles, we begin every new patient exam with an oral cancer screening. We check the hard and soft palate, gingival mucosa, and inner and outer lips for possible malignant and benign lesions. We also check the lymph nodes to ensure overall head and neck health. We believe in preventative medicine, knowing that we are the last line in oral screening. COMPOSITE FILLINGS (MERCURY-FREE)
Our goal is to provide the highest quality of dentistry. We only offer mercury-free, tooth colored composite fillings for cavities. These fillings are a durable, polymer-based material which require less tooth structure removal and will naturally bind to teeth. Also, composites are less likely to lead to catastrophic tooth fractures.IMPLANTS
Implants have revolutionized the field of dentistry. Implants are nickel titanium fixtures which act as an artificial root for support of a crown, bridge or even complete denture. Implants allow for eight times greater chewing strength and force than that of a bridge pontic or denture tooth. Implants allow for no cutting of adjacent teeth, and aid in keeping your natural bone level healthy due to biting pressure, avoiding indentation of your cheeks, while keeping your lips full. Your body treats it like a tooth. Once the implant is placed, a one month and three month observation appointment will take place to ensure stability of the implant. An impression is then taken, and a very esthetic porcelain crown is cemented on the implant.
DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY/INTRAORAL CAMERA
We only offer digital radiography, which exposes our patients to four times less radiation than normal x-rays. They also develop in less than five seconds, so there's little patient waiting time. Our fully electronic charting allows for printing and reprinting of x-rays for our patients free of charge. In addition, we have a Schick intraoral camera which provides pictures and videos inside the mouth and even the tooth. Photographs can be used as an educational tool for our more curious patients. CROWN, BRIDGE AND VENEERS
The Doctors provide all forms of Prosthodontics. We offer all porcelain crowns, standard porcelain-fused to metal crowns, and the newest form of porcelain to yellow gold lattice crown called Captek, which offers the esthetics of an all porcelain crown while providing the strength and antibacterial effect of a gold crown. We also offer multi-unit bridges which replace missing teeth, and porcelain veneers which require very little tooth cutting and offer the patient a whole new smile!PEDIATRICS
Children of all ages are welcome at Healthy Smiles. At any of our three 19 inch LCD monitors, children can watch a wide array of movies and television shows while receiving dental treatment. We offer nitrous oxide(the safest form of sedation) and oral sedation options. All children also receive a gift bag at the completion of every visit.DENTURES
At Healthy Smiles, we offer all traditional denture options as well as lucitone partial dentures which show no metal, are flexible-based, and highly cosmetic. In addition to this, we offer snap-on implant supported complete dentures as well as hybrid dentures which remain permanently cemented to an implant base. These dentures offer absolute stability and eight times the chewing force of regular complete dentures.
ORAL SURGERY/ENDODONTICS
Other services provided by the doctors include root canal therapy and extractions of all adult and baby teeth, including most third molar cases. Oral and conscious sedation are options for all oral surgery procedures. Root canal therapy involves three stages. The first appointment is the pulpotomy appointment, which is the beginning phase of the root canal and medication placement. The second appointment is the sealing and filling of the roots. The final step involves rebuilding the base of the tooth for crown placement. We also offer bone/gingival grafts in some cases and most periodontal procedures.
